Terms of Service

The rules that keep FormuLab helpful, fair, and secure.

These Terms explain how you can use FormuLab, what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you. We kept them clean and human-readable so you always know where you stand.

By creating an account, accessing the library, or subscribing to any paid plan, you agree to these Terms. If anything is unclear, reach out to hello@formulab.ca.

1. Who can use FormuLab

FormuLab is built for students, educators, and professionals who want reliable engineering references.

  • You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country.
  • If you access FormuLab on behalf of a school or company, you confirm you have authority to accept these Terms.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity that happens under your account.

2. Plans, payments, and cancellations

  • Free accounts can browse the public library. Paid plans unlock premium features like AI explainers and exports.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the interval you choose. You can cancel anytime from your account settings.
  • Charges are non-refundable unless required by law. If something goes wrong, contact us within 14 days so we can help.
  • We may trial new features or pricing. We’ll always notify you before a change impacts your current plan.

3. What you can do (and cannot do)

FormuLab is designed for personal study and professional development. To keep things fair:

  • Use content for your own study, research, or teaching. Attribution is appreciated when you share snippets.
  • Do not resell, redistribute, or publicly post our proprietary content, tools, or datasets.
  • Do not use FormuLab to build a competing product, scrape our library at scale, or try to bypass account limits.
  • Do not upload malicious files, spam other users, or attempt to compromise our infrastructure.

4. Your content and feedback

  • You retain ownership of notes, workspaces, and files you upload. You grant us a limited license to store and display them so the product works.
  • Never upload material that you do not have the right to share (for example, copyrighted textbooks or private lab data).
  • Feedback you provide (bug reports, feature ideas) can be used to improve FormuLab without additional obligations to you.

5. Intellectual property

FormuLab, including the interface, library, AI tooling, and brand assets, is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use the service. You may not copy or reverse engineer any part of the platform without permission.

6. Privacy and data use

We collect only what we need to run FormuLab and support your account. We never sell or trade your personal data. Full details live in our Privacy Policy.

7. Warranty disclaimer

FormuLab is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do our best to keep formulas accurate and up-to-date, but we do not guarantee error-free content. Always verify calculations and assumptions before using them in coursework or practice.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FormuLab is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, loss of data, or loss of profits arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Suspension and termination

  • You can delete your account at any time. Deleting your account ends your access immediately.
  • We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, compromise security, or misuse the platform.
  • If we end the service, we’ll give reasonable notice and offer a way to export your stored data whenever possible.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect new features or regulatory requirements. When we make important updates, we’ll notify you by email or in-app alerts.

Continuing to use FormuLab after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
